Below is an outline of the steps needed to register on our website. For those who are unfamiliar with online message board systems, we recommend that you print this information as a reference.
To Register
Click the "Create new Account" link (on the right side of the page under the "User Login" menu.) The following two fields are the only ones required:
Username - An alias or "nickname"
E-mail address – Must be a valid, working email address which allows us to email your temporary password. Your email address is kept confidential.
The remaining items are optional and include:
Instant messaging address – AOL, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
Website and profile name – as a link to Myspace, Facebook, etc.
Name – for those of you who do not desire anonymity.
Interest – Allows us to provide you with access to the most appropriate forums and information.
Location – Enables you to find people located near you who share our mission.
Once You Have Registered
You will receive a password by e-mail.
Use your username (alias or "nickname") to log in.
Enter the e-mailed password - It is computer generated and for security reasons, is both complicated and case-sensitive. Please ensure that you type it in carefully and accurately when logging in for the first time.
You will be automatically directed to your main profile. We recommend that you change the password to one of your choice. To do so:
Click the "Edit" link at the top of the page – The page displayed allows you to edit any of your profile information, including your password.
Type in a new password.
Click "Save" at the bottom.
If you cannot find your way back to this page, make certain that you are logged in and then:
Go to the "My Links" menu on the right side of the page.
Click on "My account"
Click on the edit tab and check your Username. If the field is blank, enter your Username.
Note: The "My Links" menu is available only after you are logged in.
