I don't enter stuff here often.
I ditched my WoW email account so I couldn't install it again. A very good strategy for giving up compulsively playing it.
I have recovered from that . I tentatively say so, because I am human :).
However it was 25/12/11 last time i played it.
I offered myself the opportunity to download it again , but I really don't want to , and the less mature aspects of me just say "you don't have the time" , which leads me to another good tip for any aspiring recovering WoW addicts (or any addiction; porn, ciggarettes, games, heroin, alchohol)...:
fill your life with meaningful things , social things. After a while of doing that (maybe a matter of months) the suggetsion that you sacrifice that time to play WoW or act out your addiction hits a strong degree of resistance.
I will leave now. I hope this gets read by those that need it . I think i will paste it also in the 'ongoing recovery' section as it is on that theme.

Agreed, Adrian. Glad to hear about your progress ... filling your life with meaningful things is SO KEY ... it literally pulled me away from gaming.
I am also a WoW survivor. World of Warcrack. And that's how it made me feel too.
i had to get busy with a new social of life of meetings. Other recovering gamers, and passing it on to others. I quot WoW June 1, 2011.
I wish I had never played it. But then again, I like my new life.
I was almost hooked by WoW when I was 16, the trial run was insidiously attractive to me and - despite my active addiction - I had a strong feeling it would be a bad idea to invest in an online account.
I hope you are doing well Adrian, come around to the meetings more often! You might just find something worth your time.
Prayer for the Day: Higher Power, help me to be realistic about the challenge I'm facing and to take good care of myself. If you need help PM me! I will gladly offer you whatever aid I can.
