http://videogames.yahoo.com/ongoingfeature?eid=513460&page=0 My husband sent me this link last night ~ haven't had a chance to read it thoroughly, but it is promoting gaming... it even claims it's good to your eyesight!! Love to All, Solei

scanned though it oh my what BS the article is mostly misleading, i.e. saying that "After 30 hours of gameplay, the subjects outperformed the control group in their ability to accurately pick out objects in a cluttered space." ... visual spatial orientation and recognition speed is not "imporoved eyesight" ... letA's just ask the millions of south coreans who are wearing glasses ;) the arguments about weight loss and classical literature made me grin a sly smile ... yeah sure ... I wonder what industry think tank paid for this article ;)
The article cracked me up....someone grasping at straws to justify something that has more negative side effects then good ones. But gaming can help you lose weight if you were like me because I wouldn't eat unless food was brought too me!
Yeah, the games improve focus, but only if you're focusing on the game. After 18 months of WoW, my son could not focus on anything, could not make eye contact with another human, and could not put two words together on a page. Yeah, games are a HUGE boost to your study skills.

Everybody note that there is a place at the bottom of the article you can click to leave a comment. Hope everyone does. I sure did.

Well, I put my professional eye to it and found that the article is just churning out biased info from other "news" sources. Clicking on the "study" did not get you the source, but another article from another site. That is how things like Imus's issue gets so blown out of proportion. Finding the facts are almost impossible. It just keeps leading to other articles saying the same thing. One was actually on a site called "eSchool" Yikes! This is "legitimate"? Seems that sites may have innocuous names, but bogus info. Nauseating and scary. :( *sigh* I left them feedback about identifying the source of the study, not the link to another article. (one of their other sites?) Later, D
For non-addicts gaming is fine, for people like me with an addictive personality they are hell.
