My name is Maria Fung, I'm writing an article about teen internet addiction for the Vancouver Sun, and looking for someone who can share about their experiences with Internet or gaming addiction.
I've done some research into internet addiction for the story, but what I really need is a voice, it can be someone who has been addicted, but has overcome the addiction, or a parent, teacher, concerned friend and family member.
It would best to have someone who has experienced this type of addiction.
I want to create awareness for this problem and to inform the public about it.

Usually for something like this, the journalist gives an email address tied to the corporation that he/she works for.
Unfortunately we have had instances where gamers trying to have fun have posted fake messages that read just like yours.

Indeed! We get a lot of similar requests, some bona fide others less so (like the reality game show featuring gaming addicts LOL).
But consider this - what do you think the reaction would be if someone went to an AA meeting and announced, I am a journalist - would someone like to share their story of drunkeness and despair with me (and possibly end up with my picture on the cover for your newspaper, tv show, reality series etc)?
