Hello,
I'm going to work on finding a meeting location over the next couple of weeks in the Phoenix area to start a meeting. Even if I'm the only one there I will commit to chairing a meeting every week. I've been in 12 step recovery for some time and should be able to find availability in one of the locations where I attend meetings for other addictions, so it shouldn't be too difficult. I'll post more info on this thread when I get it.
It is excellent that you want to start a face-to-face meeting! If you click on the Meetings tab, in the upper-right hand corner of that page there is Member Lookup By Location. This allows you to see which members of this site, who have provided their location information, are in your area. For example, doing a search for Arizona, I see 6 additional members from that state, including 2 specifically in Phoenix. Although these two are listed as being "Family or friend of an excessive gamer", they might be interested in attending your meetings, assuming that they are to be open. Good luck with finding other people to meet with you on a regular basis. If you are interested in having OLGA/OLG-Anon being involved in helping you by starting a chapter, then read &: How to Start an OLGA/OLG-Anon Chapter in Your Area if you have not yet done so.

I have no vehicle currently but if you find a meeting place somewhere near a bus route I will definitely attend. I need all the help I can get to fight my addiction and a group of people with shared addictions talking is a very very effective tool Dignified Dude
Hey Bigalaz, On behalf of the Communications Committee, let me congratulate you for your initiative in seeking to pull a meeting together. We'll have a new brochure ready for you very soon, and the readings you require are available on this site. Please let me know if we can help you further. We'd like to see you succeed so we can add a new face-to-face chapter site in Phoenix as soon as possible. Thanks, Brad

any developments with starting a meeting in AZ? I'm down!!
This is excellent news!!
It's very exciting to have these FTF groups springing up!
These posts date back a few years--does anyone know if there are currently any FTF meetings in the Phoenix area?
Hi, There are not at this time. We are looking for someone to start a chapter there. Are you interested? Do you know others who would be willing to join you? Liz

As of right now, I do not know others who would join me. I have quite a number of friends whose significant others were once gaming addicts but who seem to have moved on with their lives now in the real world. I may be interested in starting a chapter here, although I would have to learn more about it first. Is there any special training/helps available if I were to do so?
http://www.olganon.org/?q=node/220 should help you out quite a bit. I used some of the material there and the rest I winged it. If you have any questions just Private Message me.

Thanks John, this is extremely helpful. I am reading, thinking, praying, etc. about this. Just wondering how my game-addicted husband would respond and what practical changes I would need to make for myself and my daughter.
I would be willing to help with Phoenix group.. My wife is doing AA now and I am so impressed by her progress that I would really like to do the same thing with my gaming.
