The Awful Truth About Television

Here's a good e-book about TV addiction. You can use the same methods that they use for TV addiction for video game addiction.

I had enough bravery to capture Premier Romanov, I had enough bravery to destroy Megalith, but I barely had enough bravery to go down the Black River.

I found this e-book to be

I found this e-book to be interesting and thought provoking. It had some information about the negative effects of watching TV that I was not aware of. Although I don't consider myself to be addicted to television, at least not in the same manner as with video games, I believe that I watch it more than I should even though I think that I am somewhat below the average. As such, I am making an effort to watch it less although I don't think that I want to, or need to, completely stop.

I have a problem with

I have a problem with television. It's an addiction for me too: When I can stop playing games, the TV takes over. When I stop watching so much television, the games take over.

E-book is an interesting

E-book is an interesting read. It said that the average American watches 4 and a half hours of T.V. Kind of makes me feel better about my game use. Many people wasting their life away. I want more! Peace

I like TV, too. I like

I like TV, too. I like watching recorded movies on them once in a while. Not regular TV cause there are way too many commercials. The movies do come to an end....

I call it the balloon

I call it the balloon syndrome, in AA they would just say its how addicts minds work. but sometimes you press one area in your life [like video games] and another area balloon's up [like tv or excessive ammounts of reading, or excessive eating etc, etc.]

"I love playing these video games"
"But they ruin my life"
"But aren't I supposed to do whats fun and what makes me happy?"
"If ruining and sacrificing your life for playing video games made you happy, Then you probably wouldnt be looking at this website"
"But we all die in the end, doesn't it really not matter if I just do what I want?"
"Well, you COULD do what you want but in all practicality you cannot function properly in this life and play video games as your past has proven."
"So I must make a sacrifice"

Great read.  A lot of

Great read. A lot of valuable information, especially since I have a 9 month old. I am going to print it out and give it to my wife to read. I think that the estimates are correct.
