June 27, June 28, June 29, 2014 We have a secure Recovery Tent which hosts generic closed meetings during the Festival Weekend. Closed meetings are open to everyone who feels they may have a problem with some type of addictive substance or behaviour
We run a series of informal open air discussion seminars Under the Maple Tree for anyone interested in gaining information about various wellness and recovery programs with an LGBTQ slant. Discussions seminars are open to everyone.
We program interactive entertainment on our stage. Entertainment includes bands, glee clubs, dance performances and participatory sessions, featuring movement based group engagement. All entertainment is family friendly.
We need you to help us obtain informational pamphlets, meeting books and schedules of your recovery program. Also by spreading the word about this great drug and alcohol free space during World Pride. We need you to help us by volunteering for one (or more) four hour shifts to act as an ambassador of recovery programs within Clean, Sober and Proud Place. This will assist those in recovery who need to spend some quiet time or speak with someone if dealing with triggers they are experiencing during this weekend.
We can't do this alone, but together we can make our space a safe, secure and rewarding experience for everyone. Please contact us at sober@pridetoronto.com if you can help us with any of our needs.
With thanks
The Clean Sober and Proud Place Team
