I would like to start a face-to-face meeting chapter of OLGA in the Boston area. ATM, I have no solid plan, but hope to have one shortly. I intend to post signs in and around the Boston/Cambridge area, visit other 12-step fellowship meetings, and hopefully have a meeting place within a few months. If there are OLGA members who have suggestions for me, please post to this thread! If there are OLGA members who live close to Boston, please PM me! I'll post new information as I get it!

Some 12 step clubhouses host meetings for and support a variety of fellowships. It might be worth looking into any club houses near you, to either create awareness of your meeting or possibly hold the meeting there.
Next time I'm in Boston, I'll try to work your meeting into my schedule!

12 step fellowships didn't start with much of a plan, (reading up on the AA stuff and history will attest to that)
the principal is, people are hurting, and don't have a way to get better.
so there is nothing you can do wrong:)

ALANO clubs have several rooms at each location in larger cities.
Boston ALANO should have this type of facility.
There is rent, to cover costs, but we are fully self supporting so
you shouldn't have any problems if you follow the program and 12 step format.
Keep it simple.
Once I decide to do something, I usually just do it.
Once in awhile though, I find my defenses low, and have to remind myself of my resolve.
I'm not perfect. I struggle with my emotions. All I can really do is try to live better ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Do you mean AlAnon? I'm familiar with several of the Boston AlAnon meetings and intend to visit them to announce a new OLGA meeting.

I do hope that you guys find the support for a face to face meeting soon. Being an alcoholic in recovery its hard to see my son wasting away with his addiction to On Line gaming. It almost reminds me of my abuse of crack back in the day of my sickness

Hi all,
Any news on setting up a meeting? I have had several years experience with other 12 step groups, have read AA Big Book (founding book) and the like. Addiction takes many forms.
I'm newly sober as of today (again) and know I need support. It's a tough road alone, especially for those of us who have hidden behind a computer screen and may be isolated already.
