TO all who are interested,
I am a recovering alcoholic and addict with 9 years of sobriety. I have been involved with AA for 20 years and attend regular meetings, work steps, have a sponsor, and sponsor people. Over the last 3 years, gaming addicion has ruined my life as well as my families. I would be more than happy to start a meeting at the Newport Beach alano club on 32nd street in Newport Beach, CA. If there is anyone else that is interested in attending a regular meeting, please let me know and I'll set it up.
Look forward to hearing from all who are suffering from online gaming addiction.
Sam
you only really need two people to have a meeting (this is proven every other saturday in Tampa Bay FL) so find another gaming addict and get a meeting going!!!

Hi Straightfaced, send a PM to crackedeye (I think that's his name). I believe he might be in your area.

ALL quoted text (unless otherwise stated) comes from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous (with wording sometimes changed only to make it more relevant for gaming addiction). I will include page numbers.
Hoping & praying for a measure of recovery for all of us today.
Hi Sam,
I would love to meet with you some time to share our experiences and ideas. We have a face-to-face group here in Culver City, a little north of you, which goes on every Sunday. Currently we have myself and another person who attends. Like John said, all you need to start is two people.
I understand that Newport is a long drive from Culver City, however, I would be willing to meet once in the near future somewhere in the middle between our locations, to meet with you and talk. I am trying to get every opprtunity I can get at the moment to meet with other Video Gamers whose gaming has gone out of control. I have attended a couple AA meetings in order to see how they are run and I see sooooo many similarites to the type of personalities that these addictions attract, and I also see many similarities concerning the tell-tale signs of addiction.
You can email me, paul.shawkat@gmail.com. Here is the link to our site (currently a meetup.com site). http://www.meetup.com/Video-Gamers-and-Internet-Addicts-Anonymous/
Let's set something up!
The best,

Count me in! I'm in Costa Mesa!
Give me the wisdom to know what is right, and the courage to do it.
Give me the strength to change.
