BBC Documentary Request

Hi,

My name's Sarah and I'm currently working on an observational documentary that is in development for the BBC, that wants to address the subject of technology, gaming and internet addiction in young people today.

We're looking to hear from young adults in the UK who feel that they need help with their addiction to technology.

Is an online game taking over your life? Have you become completely immersed in MMORPG games that have stopped you from attending school or university or have you completely disassociated yourself from friends and family because of an inability to disconnect.

Or are you a parent who is really worried about the increased retraction from family life? You might have a roommate, best friend or family member that you're worried about, or you might simply want a helping hand yourself - we're interested in hearing from people from a variety of different backgrounds, with a variety of different levels of online addiction.

The documentary will help take addicts on a journey of rehabilitation with a top US clinic, giving them access to treatment that may otherwise be out of reach and follow their progress as a group as they undergo specialist therapy to help them overcome their problems.

If you are interested in finding out more about our documentary, please email sarah.cawley@crackitproductions.co.uk for more information.

Many thanks,

It is worth adding that in

It is worth adding that in the first instance what we would like to do is speak with the addicts on the phone, before meeting with them and filming them - at home, at work, etc - talking about their addiction, the underlying issues behind it, and also their treatment.

As this idea is currently in development the channel this would just be for a taster tape, which we would then show to the commissioner in order to convince him to allow us to make a full series. The filming being carried out at this initial stage would NOT be shown on television.

Thanks,
