Hi,
I'm new to this site but I have struggled with video game addiction for the last 10 years. When I am lonely, fatigued, or feeling down, I feel the urge to escape by playing games. I am unable to control myself.
I used to have this idea that once I retired, I would finally be free to play all the time and not feel guilty. Over time gaming has become my go-to activity whenever I don't want to work.
I hope I can avoid games and all the related media (online videos, forums, etc.) for the next month. Best of luck to everyone else battling with their addiction.
Sincerely,
David
David, I had the same goals of "once I retired, I would finally be free to play all the time" too!
I am moving into my 8th year of being addiction free and life is awesome! I no longer wish to retire and game. It's not worth it!

Thanks, that's so inspirational! Hopefully I can get there too.
