I want to thank all of you for your support and kind words of advice. Although I have not posted in nearly 2 years, I still visited olganon to read and find the strength to fight my addiction. I no longer feel the compulsion to game, even while logged in to steam (a large gaming platform). I knew that with time the compulsion would go away, but I never thought I would lose interest in gaming altogether... There were times this year when I would join a game to ease my boredom, but I never lasted long. There are so many other things I would rather do to pass the time. Even though I can only see clear skies ahead, I hesitate to say "the battle is won," for addiction has a way of reappearing later in our lives if we are not careful.
I have found myself again, picked up old hobbies that I had dropped during my wasted gaming years, discovered new interests, and made new friends. This chapter of my life is over and I am now starting a new one. I still plan to "drop by" every once in awhile to remind myself of where I was two years ago and to perhaps offer some encouragement to those of you who are still fighting the battle. There is hope!
Again, my thanks to all of you!
