Day 1
Last night, i planned a schedule. Unfortunatly, i had some difficulties following it. I planned on studying over 8 hours today, which was too much for now (only was able to do it during 4). Since i couldn't play videogames, i actually thought i could spend all my free time studying, which was a big mistake. I spent 1-2 hours on Youtube after breakfast, lunch and dinner, not related to videogames, trying to find something interesting to do. For no reason, i actually started learning basics of Japanese and i actually enjoyed it. I'll have to find a way to be productive right after meals, because i realize that's where i used to waste most of my time playing videogames. It's 8:00 pm, and i actually think i'll be able to go to sleep early tonight. Based on the other stories i read, going to bed early for the first time is really though. I'll see about that. Wish me good luck.
Hi Alex
Best of luck with your plan!

I really understand the desire to learn Japanese. For me it is Spanish. I'm able to understand and speak most basic and some intermediate Spanish now, and looking forward to being fluent soon.

*Sorry if i post this here. I've been trying for the past 2 days to edit the first post, but it seems i can't for some reason.*
Day 5
Exam #1 done. It went ok. I still have to prepare myself for the 3 other ones next week. I had planned to take a break right after my exam. Unfortunatly, my bad habits came back. Instead of taking a 1 hour break, i took the entire evening off, watching videos on Twith n Youtube. But i didn't play any videogames though, so that's still better than nothing. Guess i was tired, but i also made the mistake of not making an actual schedule for my evening right after my exam. Should have done it, that would have helped me to get back to work. Anyways, i'll wake up early tomorrow to keep on studying. 6 days left before it's over.
Day 3-4
Still getting ready for my exams. My first exam is tomorrow, so i am pretty stressed. Only 1 more week, and i'll be able to get to a more "normal" life. Luckily, i have a lot more time to study since i'm not playing videogames. I also spent less time on Youtube compared to the first day. Even though i won't get results to be proud of, i'm pretty confident that i'll be able to get through this withouth failing anything. Anyways, wish me good luck for tomorrow morning.
Day 2
Horrible night. I wasn't able to sleep, and i stayed up until 4:00. Luckily, i had a lot of things to study, so i spent a lot of time during that night studying. Unfortunatly, i was really tired today. Still tried to study as much as I could, but i just was too tired. I didn't play videogames, even though i really wanted too, but i still watched a few hours of videos on Youtube (related to videogames unfortunatly) cause i was too tired. Somehow, quite a few cups of coffee later, i was still able to study for a decent amount of hours. I probably won't sleep a lot tonight because of all that caffeine, but at least i'm getting ready for my exams withouth playing videogames.
Hang in there buddy ! It's very difficult not to play especially when you know that you'll take tough exams. Don't look back, be optimistic and stay strong . We are all here to support each other. Good luck in your exams
Take care,
David

PandaRyuk, sounds like you are doing awesome!!! It is these first few weeks that are often the hardest IMO.
You seem to chastise yourself for watching a lot of YouTube videos. To be completely honest, I do a lot of YouTube video watching myself (I don't have a TV) ... I personally don't think it's harmful as long as it's keeping you away from videogames at the moment!
For me, when I got off games, I watched a whole bunch of YouTube videos for like several weeks straight because I had no idea what I was supposed to replace all that free time with. I was sleeping like crazy, watching a lot of comedy videos on YouTube, I was pretty much everywhere. Only when I kinda clarified my life and started taking risks to venture out of my comfort zone into social groups, church, studying, etc (kind of thinking about my long-term life goals), I was able to find new activities that could fill that free time and make it meaningful.
Hopefully that can help. In the beginning, I think YouTube videos can be okay. Someone else on the forum told me the same thing too. Anything that replaces videogaming in the beginning is not that bad.
Hey buddy! How's it going? I suggest you log in more often on OLGA and post here your progress. It's much easier to keep yourself clean doing so. I hope you're OK and you're doing well at your exams.
Brotherly hugs,
David
