Hello everyone .
Havn't gamed seriously in about 7-8 months (internets been disconnected).
Made a deal with myself and my wife that if i quit smoking (Had no ends of problems trying to quit) I'm allowed to get the video games back.
We had a talk about it and me smoking is far more damaging than playing video games.
I'm not smoking for 90 days and once i hit 90 days I can get the internet back up.
85 days to go.
Hi Beina,
The one thing I am sure of is that those 85 days during which you will neither game nor smoke are going to be great for your health and general well being :-)
When I'm gaming, I make terrible decisions for myself. I bet I'd be back to smoking in no time. Then I'd be gaming AND smoking.
What you feed grows, and what you starve withers away.
With respect to this I am exactly like Scott. :-)

already covered,
If i start smoking again the internet is disconected - I can either game or smoke.
well its working.
I'm coming up on 3 weeks smoke free.
Quite powerful this little gaming addiction thing!

so,
been ~6 months since i've played a real online game. Lifes better.
going good, health, work, life, money, etc. everything is on the up.
Quit smoking now 4 weeks and 1 day. smoked for 10 years and was on 16 smokes a day.
Wonder if i can somehow trick myself into getting the internet back at home and not gaming. I think that is going to be the trick! Right now i don have time in my life for games. granted, there have been times that have been perfect for gaming, few hours to kill on certain days where having a binge for 2 hours wouldn't of helped ( and YES YES for all you mentally ill people tryin to improve your post count i know thats where it starts).
still board.
Beina,
Sounds like you really need to quit your wife in order to keep gaming and smoking. Just an option.
Happy count up,

Beina, I'm with Andrew. It's not all over. For most people, quitting gaming is not a one-and-done type thing. It's very common to quit, start, quit, start, etc. If the periods of not gaming are getting longer, and the periods of gaming are getting shorter, that's progress and that's good. It's not about perfection, it's about getting better. You're getting better. Quit gaming again and try to go longer this time. You can do it, And, the great thing is, it's worth it. You will be happier not gaming, most likely. Not gaming won't solve all problems, but it will help.
Try again!
