After eating a sugar diet for 2 weeks, I have decided to stop eating junk food....
I have irritable bowel syndrome, and I have been sick from the sugar. I missed a violin lesson and more than one aquacise class. This sugar diet of mine is not helping me.
I saw a doctor at the clinic about my gaming and sugar cravings. We will have my blood sugar checked since I am at risk for diabetes. The doctor said that adrenaline and stress is what causes me to eat sugar. She said that the gaming helped relax me.
To no one's surprise, the doctor did not really understand gaming addiction, but she was empathetic, and tried to understand. She agreed with me that I should not be spending money on gaming. At the very least, I enlightened her about gaming addiction.
I continue with my violin lessons, and I am joining an ensemble class as well. I want to be a well rounded violinist. But my ultimate goal is to be a soloist. A sugar diet will prevent me from doing this, so I look forward to healthy eating, and a healthy lifestyle.

Best of luck to you Jena. I know how hard it is to give up the sugar. But you can do it. I have found, too, that if I'm not eating sugar, healthy foods taste better. So that's an added bonus. I try to stay away from white flour products as well because they are just as bad.

I have trouble with sugar products too, mostly chocolate, to enhance mood of course, much more so than sugar candies.
But oh my word, white flours? I'm a walking bag of pretzels.
thanks to you both for bringing it back to my attention.

Thank you so much for your support!!!
Perhaps my sugar diet was a reaction from withdrawal from gaming. I try to avoid junk food, but when I quit gaming (again), I turned to sugar to soothe me.
With my irritable bowel syndrome, sugar makes me very sick, and then I miss out on violin and aquacise, and anything else happening in my life.
I am slowly healing from my IBS, and I am looking forward to living my new life again: game free and sugar free.

I'm going to think of you next time I reach for something sugary...I need to eliminate sugar too!
About 2 years ago, I quit all refined sugar and quit eating all foods that had sugar. I started feeling better immediately, and lost about 20 pounds in about a month.
I'm back to occasionally using sugar and allowing myself products made with sugar and guess what? The weight is back. Shocking.
I am a recovering computer game and gambling addict. My recovery birthday: On May 6, 2012 I quit games and began working a program of recovery through OLGA No computer games or slot games for me since December 12, 2012. No solitaire games with real cards since June 2013.
Ok, thank you. Out with the sugar, off with the pounds!

I weigh 170 pounds, and I am five feet two....
If I stay away from sugar, I will lose weight???
That is good enough reason to stay away from sugar!!!
I like to eat instant oatmeal with sugar in it. I cannot give that up. Maybe I can buy plain oatmeal, and put honey it it???

I use a sugar substitute. Some folks recommend Stevia as being something natural. Of course getting off sugar is a huge change, but it's definitely a good one I think. At least it was for me, and I'm looking to get back there.
