If I could.... I would....I should....

Many times I read about regrets here, looking back it is always so easy to see what one might have done different. If I look back at my life I see many times where I feel I should have acted differently or even better. Now I know what I might have done while back then I apparently didn't see it. How many times do we tell ourselves of I could...., I should...I would... But when we look back we seem to forget we have grown, learned and therefor if we look back we can see what we might have done different. Back then we didn't have the experience maybe to deal with it like we might do now. Looking back also makes us look different at things, in a given situation we act with the best of our intentions to deal with it and if we look back and have had time to think about it we might come up with a different approach but who is to say it will always be a better one?

Looking back, however understandable, can keep one stuck in regrets. While it is good to realize we can always learn from the past and progress we also need to realize that telling ourselves we should have..., could have...is not helping us move forward. Learn from the past but do not linger in it. Forgive yourself for being human and know that next time you may indeed act different. Every experience, how little it may seem, can teach us things. Every day is a new opportunity to look forward and a change to pursue happiness.
