I'm A Writer - Need Short Testimoney for Newspaper Article

Hello all, I am a journalism student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. I write for the college newspaper and this week, I am doing a piece on depression linked to online gaming.

I am looking for a quick testimony that I can use in the article, It needs to be short & sweet, probably something like 60 words. Something like what "bgh" wrote here: ">http://www.olganon.org/?q=node/5747[/url].

"I am a manic-depressive gaming and pornography addict in recovery for four months. I go to 12-step meetings twice a week, as well a seeing a psychiatrist and an addictions counsellor. Online RPG's have been very, very bad for my mood disorder. They have historically driven me deeper into depression and contributed greatly to suicidal ideations, which I ultimately acted on last December.

I believe that people suffering from depression should think seriously about quitting this habit - it does nothing for self esteem, and as you have seen, wrecks relationships."

I may want to use that if he gives me permission, but I may also find better ones here.

If you are interested, please post your short testimony here, don't PM me!

Thank you all

Online gaming can surely

Online gaming can surely lead to depression. If something horrible happens to your character it's like if something horrible happens to you. You are a part of your character, you act through it. It is the puppet and you are its master. If the puppet is broken, the master cannot perform any longer. This can lead to severe mood swings and numerous bad habits. Gaming is a great art form, and sometimes people just get too caught up into the role playing. That's why live action role playing (LARPing) is a better storytelling alternative. It promotes excersise and social interaction while providing the fun and storylines of the numerous MMORPGs out there.

I would suspect that finding

I would suspect that finding things to do in real life is a still better alternative. I hope you enjoyed the edits as much as you apparently enjoy your gaming.
