Greetings, all!
In a few days we will embark upon another year of change and growth. It's easy to look at the past and focus on all the things we didn't accomplish, instead of focusing on the things that we did. But in either case, remember that those things are in your past and cannot be changed. Even the future, no matter what you see in store for yourself, is not real. We only have the present.
The power that we each wield is incredible, in terms of what we can accomplish once we set our minds to it. But the hardest part is often deciding what it is we want. And then once we decide, it is often hard to take that first step. This is often as result of our thinking that our lives will be no different than they were in the past and that we might fail something if we attempt it because we've always failed in the past. This is the danger of focusing on the past...and if we think as we've always thought...then we will achieve...or not achieve...what we always have or have not.
Remember that each experience in our lives changes us and makes us more capable of handling the challenges ahead. You are not the same person today that you were yesterday. Nor were you the same yesterday as you were the day before. No matter who you are...no matter what your past was like or how you were raised, you can achieve great things. It's just up to YOU to go after them.
Today, right now as you read this, think about something you want to have in your life and take a step toward that goal...no matter how small. Success is usually the result of many small efforts in the right direction, and if you think of your goals in terms of small manageable steps, then you will find that you achieve much more than you think. And this will help keep you on the right track.
To those who continue to visit this site, we thank you for your contributions. There is no doubt that the success we have enjoyed has been a direct result of the small steps forward we've taken...and in the learning from the small steps back we've taken as well. Such is life.
I wish you the best for the new year and hope that you find the inner strength to go for your dreams and if I can help with that in any way, please don't hesitate to ask.
