Please don't respond to flames

It appears that some people who enjoy MMO's have decided to come and visit and spread flames.

Flames include both personal attacks and "Why, I just want to debate your philosophy of addiction/gaming/etc." One is naked violence and the other is passive agressive, but both can make people who want genuine help feel worse and both are ultimately destructive to our mission, which is helping people get better, period.

Since I shall delete posts containing flames from regular threads, please don't respond to them.

Since I shall delete entire threads started by flamers, please don't respond to them.

Remember that these people get happy by being mean. They only stay happy by people getting unhappy at their being mean. They are called griefers in the gaming world and you only win by realizing that they are playing a cruel game and you refuse to play.

It may get ugly in here for a couple of weeks, but if things run like the last flame wars we had, eventually all but the most hardcore gamers get bored posting stuff that just gets deleted anyway.

So please... don't take any of the comments personally, I or another moderator will delete anything directed at you in an unkind way.

Don't feel intimidated or feel that you can't post stuff when you need to because of flamers, you can. It may get a little difficult if we are sorting through hundreds of flames, but let us mods worry about that, you keep doing what you have to to get better. We're on your side.

Have good cheer, this too shall pass.
