I tried a google search using as keywords "video games skills"
Some of the links I found
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/educa...879019.stm
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/techn...943280.stm
www.smh.com.au/articles/2...click=true
www.siliconvalley.com/mld...616646.htm
And there are many more !
But they can be an addiction too, I know that for a fact
But after a long streak without video games and actually getting involved with other stuff I felt the need to go back to playing the game I enjoy most, Rise Of Nations. I used to play it for hours on end, and that is not healthy. But a game every now and then is actually good for me !
The reason why I feel I can control myself this time is simple : I have found other things that I like and other that motivate me. I am working on SUN and Microsoft certifications, I travel, I exercise nordic walking, I hike, I learn esperanto and go to meetings. These are things I enjoy as well.
Hello
We are not opposed to gaming per se. Gaming, like sports or music, can bring out some good qualities in many people. I am glad that you can handle gaming and derive benefit from it without sliding into a situation where you aren't really in control.
I wish you the very best. Good luck to you in your well-balanced life.
