The article with a title of "Multiplayer Web Surfing?" at http://www.worldsinmotion.biz/2008/02/multiplayer_web_surfing.php[/url] says that "It's a Firefox add-on, apparently, and it allows users to interact with one another on websites they have both visited."A Later in the article, after describing some of the ways that the add-on will be implemented, it quotes from the Gamelayer's site as to the add-on's overall concept:
Quote:This unconventional massively multiplayer online game merges your web life with an alternate, hidden reality. The mundane takes on a layer of fantastic achievement. Player behavior generates characters and alliances, triggers interactions in the environment, and earns the player points to spend online beefing up their inventory. Suddenly the internet is not a series of untouchable exhibits, but a hackable, rewarding environment.
Although I don't think that this will be as addictive as MMORPGs, for some people they may nonetheless cause problems (e.g., people like me who find just regular video games to be addictive) plus it also seems to further blur the distinctions between reality and virtual life.A Although the article says that this is still in beta, it is one Firefox add-on that I will definitely pass on whenever it comes out.

At first, I thought you were talking about good ol' Progress Quest (It's the anti-mmo)
I can see it getting addictive, too. "My actions increase my virtual numbers" isn't always a good idea to implement.
