My name is Patrick.
I'm glad that you're here because this means that you're open to the possibility that just maybe there's someone out here who can help you. And I'm here because I've spent the last ten years learning how best to help people a lot like you.
You're smart to want to know a little about the person that you're hoping will be able to understand what you're going through and, of course you'd like to know whether or not they have the experience and the ideas that you're looking for.
So, let me tell you just a little about why I became a psychotherapist as well as some of the reasons why I believe I can help you resolve whatever issues are causing you pain right now. I began my career almost by accident ten years ago, when I got a part time job working with kids who had been removed from their homes either because they were dangerous or their environments were. As you can imagine, most of these kids had multiple self-esteem and abuse issues and were a pretty pessimistic bunch. To my surprise (and probably theirs, as well), I discovered that I have a natural talent for listening and for understanding people going through tough times. It felt pretty wonderful to be able to actually help people, so I became involved with career counseling, character development and leadership programs for many years. This didn't satisfy me, though, so I went back to college and earned my Master's degree in Counseling, I passed my practicum and internship, passed the National Counseling Exam, received my certification and became a fully licensed, Nationally Certified counselor and psychotherapist. I have been helping clients find better solutions for almost ten years.
The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions.
