So much for an early night! 1 week and counting game free!

Well made it this far :) a whole week without games (although not without temptation) and i'm still standing.

Made the huge step (for me) of putting my steam account up for sale.... my word, it would appear i have spent over $2000 on that alone, and that not including the tons of money i have pumped over the years into other games and "freemium" titles... and what did i get out of it? lonliness and misery in the end. helps me to see that what i was doing was really not worth it in the long run. bit late but hey, better late than never right?

Huge thumbs up to everyone on here and all the support you have given me thus far. i dont think i would have made it had i not been able to come here and vent/communicate/relate/sympathise with this fellowship.

So thank you all. looking forward to tomorrow. it will bring challenges and pain, but it will end, and it will be another day under my belt :)

thats great man, congrats on

thats great man, congrats on the week, you've climbed a hill on your journey to freedom. Putting your account to sale- i know it must be tough but you're doing what's right for you. Think about all the money you will get from the person who buys it, taking the burden off your hands and imagine all the extra money you will have because you're no longer a gamer :).

Thanks :) Strangely putting it up for sale didnt feel "hard" at all. in fact, if the account simply got banned/taken away i honestly don't think i would have a problem with it, if i can get a small portion of the money i wasted on it back yeah, not going to deny it would be great and good timing for christmas, but in the end as long as i shift it somehow i dont care! however now i am not trying to budget games into my monthly spending at all i am feeling a bit of the pressure off, and am actively putting money by for cinema trips with the kids at the weekends and paying off bills faster than i was originally planning etc, so that feels really good :)

Now just got to figure what to do in a rainy lunch hour when i dont want to sit in my office!

Good for you!  Being able

Good for you! Being able to put time and money into real life things that actually matter (like your kids) is important, and it's great to hear that you're both doing it AND enjoying it. :)
