This was written by our very own Dan1, of OLGA:
When you accept yourself, you're not so worried about rejection.
When you accept yourself, it doesn't bother you when you trip over an old weakness
When you accept yourself, you don't need other people's love to make you complete
When you accept yourself, you seek your best, rather than comparing yourself with others
When you accept yourself, you're comfortable alone and with others
When you accept yourself, you are able to live in the present
When you accept yourself, you are able to grow
When you accept yourself, your life and efforts are never wasted
When you accept yourself, you are able to see both positive and negative things about yourself without fear
When you accept yourself, you are able to see and live with the truth
When you accept yourself, you have no need to hide.
Sweet of you to say, Pat, but actually I just rewrote something that Pat sent me. I will say that self-acceptance has been one of the most transformative events of my recovery. The level of healing and the depth of insight it has brought me have been miraculous. All credit to the higher power, my sponsors, friends, the program and the fellowship. Hugs to all my people.
