So yeah, I just spent a few hours writing this:

So, I JUST got done writing it, get a phone call, and immediately start looking through a build for a protection warrior in World of Warcraft. Wtf. Lol.
I will NOT play the game. I guess I should delete it from my hard drive, eh?
Cheers.
Brad
Yes, Brad, deleting your games is a good idea! You may want to give yourself a moat of protection, so if you really want to play, you are going to have to do some swimming before you can (during which time, you will have the chance to change your mind and swim back to your real life).

And Brad,
Few tricks work - You have to play out the next couple few years in your head as to where your life will be if you keep playing heavily. Until you find compelling enough reasons NOT to play, you will only experience painful withdrawals until one day, it just hurts too much...and before you know it you are picking hair colors and styles for your new warrior.

Brad, the first times I tried to stop I could not move myself to delete my games. Later I deleted the games, but left my save games. Later I deleted all my games, but left my favourite websites.
The last few times I have wiped everything. Several times. It helps as it becomes easier every time, at least for me.
And yes, it is an extra layer of protection. Another extra layer Brad, would be to give your friend the address of the beautiful post you made. It might be a hard decision, but definitely a good one.
Here is a link to an addiction cycle. Are you addicted?

I can't figure out how to quote, lol.
But to answer your question Liz, well of course I am. I answered yes to every one of those questions, except for the fact that I'm no longer in denial, and I'm not in a delusional state.
I have all the key qualifications of an addictive personality. But I'm aware of that now. I figured the addiction part out about 6 months ago. I just didn't know what to do about it. I kept doing the same things over and over again, with the cycle of quiting and relapsing, because I didn't know where to turn. Fortunately I now have you guys. And I haven't played any games in 2 complete days. I've wanted to. Dear god, have I wanted to. But, being able to talk openly about it on here has helped tremendously.
Cheers,
Brad
